How to Apply

Check Your Eligibility

To apply, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum Age: You must be 18 years or older..
  • Academic Qualification: Successful completion of the equivalent of Australian Year 11 or higher.
  • English Proficiency:
    • 1. IELTS 5.5 or above.
    • 2. PTE 36 or above.
    • 3. TOEFL PF 453 or above; TOEFL IBT 46 or above.
    • 4. CAE Scale 162 or above.
    • 5. Completed ELICOS (General English) for 15–30 weeks.

No English document alternative options:

  • Pass Swanston Institute’s Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) test.
  • Undertake an ELICOS course before enrolling.
  • Provide evidence of five years of study in English-speaking countries.
  • Provide evidence of recent successful completion of a foundation course or Certificate II or higher-level qualification in Australia.

Attend Orientation

    • Browse our course catalogue to find a program that aligns with your career goals and interests.
    • Review the entry requirements for your chosen course to ensure you meet all prerequisites.

Complete the Pre-Training Review (PTR)

  • All applicants must undertake a Pre-Training Review (PTR) and Literacy and Numeracy (LN) assessment.
  • This step helps determine your suitability for the selected course and identifies any additional support you may need.

Submit Your Application

  • Fill out the online application form or visit us on campus.
  • Upload or provide certified copies of:
    • 1. Academic transcripts and qualifications.
    • 2. English proficiency test results (if applicable).
    • 3. Copy of your passport and current visa details.

Transferring from Another Institution?

If you haven’t completed six months of your principal course at your current provider, you’ll need a Letter of Release as per Swanston Institute’s Transfer of Students Policy.

Receive and Accept Your Offer

  • Once your application is reviewed, you’ll receive a Letter of Offer outlining:
    • 1. Course details.
    • 2. Fees and payment schedule.
    • 3. Terms and conditions of enrolment.
  • To accept:
    • 1. Sign and return the Written Agreement.
    • 2. Pay the required deposit.

Enrol and Finalize

  • After accepting your offer, you’ll receive a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).
  • Finalize your enrolment by selecting course units and accessing your study schedule.

  • Join us for orientation to familiarize yourself with our campus, trainers, and student support services.
  • Learn about important policies and resources to ensure a successful study experience.

Important Notes

  • English requirements for student visa assessments may vary. Visit the Department of Home Affairs for details.
  • Completing the LLN test or ELICOS course does not guarantee student visa approval, as visa conditions are determined by the Department of Home Affairs.
